The Word You Need to Remember

SCRIPTURE: Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

THOUGHT: Typically, if God (or Jesus) repeats himself, it means “pay attention!” So, if God said something four times to you, what would be your listening posture?

Four times in 12 verses of Joshua 1, the Lord tells Joshua to be strong and courageous. To be “be strong and very courageous,” to “only be strong and courageous.” God is promising his presence if Joshua will only trust. He can go forward in his calling — without fear, without discouragement, without doubt.

What words has God said to you that you need to remember today?

PRAYER: Help us remember what you’ve said, Lord. To whom else would we go, for you have the only words that offer true life.
