Breath

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 150:6 NIV Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

THOUGHT: We sometimes sing a lyric that never fails to get me, you know — with passion, sometimes tears, a sense I am singing truth. It says, “it’s your breath in our lungs so we pour out our praise.” Just acknowledging our very breath belongs to God is such a reality check. It’s another way of saying, “it’s all yours, God; in you it all holds together.” We’re only alive and breathing because of a gift — an immense and holy God who stooped down to breathe into us the breath of life.
