SCRIPTURE: John 6:28-29 NLT They replied, “We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?” Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”
THOUGHT: I have to admit, I really like it when instructions for the Christian life are simple, to-the-point, memorable, and doable. And as a writer, I have to admire how much can be said in one simple sentence, using just 16 words: This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.
Jesus has just performed a huge miracle that has the crowds following him, begging for more. More bread, that is. Missing the entire point he is trying to make: don’t believe in the bread, or the miracles, believe in me.

PRAYER: We love a good sign, Jesus, and another miracle beyond what you have already done. Burn on our hearts these words, that what the Father wants from us is believing in you beyond the miracles.
