SCRIPTURE: Psalm 17:7 NLT By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.
THOUGHT: I’ve been thinking a lot about refuge lately. I’ll admit to being kind of geeky about certain words – suppose that comes with the territory of being a writer. But I love that word, refuge. It reminds me of sanctuary, a word that means safe place but so often isn’t. We have both refuges and sanctuaries for wildlife in our country, but there are not many for us humans. I’d just like to encourage you today to remember God provides both. If you need refuge or sanctuary from your enemies – be they literal or figurative (and the Psalmist had both) – cry out to Jesus. He rescues in the most amazing ways.
