SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
THOUGHT: Words like “grace” and “mercy” get thrown around so much they can lose their meaning like a drop of water lost in an ocean. So today, let’s not let them just slide by. Just for a moment, imagine the throne room of God and the Lamb. What does the room look like, and how do you feel and act as you approach God in your time of need?
Mostly, people who encounter God’s presence seem to fall flat on their faces – what response do you think you would have? Is it possible to draw near with confidence and at the same time be completely overwhelmed by the power, the holiness, the justice, the mercy and the sea of grace coming from this God we love?

PRAYER: Thank you, God, for your whole story. That the book starts with grace and ends with grace for those who love you. Thank you for the invitation right to your throne as we seek help in time of need.
