SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 13:5 NLT [Love] is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
THOUGHT: In an astonishing conversation with God, God shows himself to Moses when that brave man asks to see his glory. God hides his face and as he passes by, explaining his nature by naming himself, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness (Ex. 34:6 NLT).”
Truly God is not irritable, keeps no record of wrongs, and embodies that old concept, long suffering, but not in the ho-hum, I’m a victim sort of way. Next time you find yourself longing for Christ’s return, remember the way God tried to explain to his friend, Moses, the vast and indescribable well of character he draws on as he makes decisions. This is love.

PRAYER: Oh God, that you could deliver me from being irritable and chalking up against others their debts to me. Plant the fruit of your love deeply in me, that it might crowd out the roots of everything self-serving. You have given what I needed most – love.
