SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 13:6 NLT [Love] does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
THOUGHT: I want to say, ‘what kind of person rejoices when injustice is done?’ but I’ve seen too much unchecked passion for wickedness in my life to deny that it’s real and just as ugly as it sounds.
Today, we live in a culture that seems to be coming apart at the seams. Injustice on the left, injustice on the right. The truth becomes harder to know and see and therefore rejoice over. Misinformation grows like weeds that need so little water, sun, or fertile soil. We must keep praying for light to penetrate and truth to win out — for the kind of love God has to be the kind of love we are living.

PRAYER: Lord, when truth becomes hard to find, remind us of things that never change – like the love you have for all this raggedy world. We turn to you to hold things together. Give us reasons for joy.
