SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 6:16-19 AMP These six things the Lord hates; Indeed, seven are repulsive to Him: A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others], a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that creates wicked plans, Feet that run swiftly to evil, A false witness who breathes out lies [even half-truths], And one who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers.
THOUGHT: There’s a lot of hate going on around us. How interesting to juxtapose it against this list of things God hates. Memorize the list. Meditate on them as you go about life and they will help you love people and love justice.
PRAYER: God, your laws are good and lead to flourishing. The things you hate do just the opposite. Help us love as you love and be repulsed by what repulses you. Let us reflect your great heart as we walk upon the earth.
