THOUGHT: My father was an optometrist. As a child, I was always eager for my eye exam and would spend hours at his office poring through the frames beforehand, trying to decide which to get. But the day never arrived because my eyes were good until after he retired! How disappointed I was, year after year, to hear I didn’t need glasses.
Once they started to go, my eyes made up for some lost time. Now I need my glasses to see this computer screen, to eat, to play piano, and more recently to see road signs. I need help to focus.
Spiritually, we all have eyes that need help. Unless we keep our focus on what God is doing, we are easily distracted by fear, confusion, human wisdom, and the cunning ways of the serpent.
