Reconciler

SCRIPTURE: 2 Cor. 5:18-19 NLT And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

THOUGHT: Perhaps it is hard to think of yourself as an evangelist. Images of Billy Graham in a crowded stadium pop up on the one hand, or a street preacher with a megaphone and a pile of tracts on the other. But what if you pictured yourself a reconciler? One who works in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring two parties – God and humans in this case – together? To speak peace on behalf of the God of Peace is an incredible honor, not a drudgery to be borne. Reconciliation is gospel – the best news the world will ever hear.

PRAYER: God, who are we that you even take notice of us, yet you have entrusted to us your passionate story of reconciliation through Jesus: the good news that our sins are no longer held against us. You are a God of Peace who longs for, and makes provision for, reconciliation and reconcilers like us.
