SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 16:9 NASB In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
THOUGHT: We like our plans – and often they are designed to get us the fame or money or strokes we are longing for. So, we lay our plans and ask God to bless them. But we are shortsighted. All along, God is working out good for each child of his, issuing course corrections, helping us come to a place of not just desiring, but being desperate for his ways, his plans, his will. God, with thoughts and ways higher than ours, is establishing our steps. And I, for one, am grateful.

PRAYER: Thank you, God, that you aren’t wood or stone or metal – but living and active, working out your will for us and for our world even when we can’t see it or comprehend it. Establish our steps today and always.
