Distracted

SCRIPTURE: She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. Luke 10:39-40

THOUGHT: Is there any chance that you feel too distracted to sit down and listen to Jesus?

Mary defied expectations of people who ‘needed’ her and cultural norms that ‘dictated’ to her to sit as a pupil of the Rabbi, in a position of humility, hanging on every word, un-distracted. May the same be said of us.

PRAYER: Jesus, Master, to whom would we go? You have the words of real life, eternal life. (John 6:68 MSG).
