Endurance

SCRIPTURE: And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing. James 1:4 AMP

THOUGHT: While we are at work enduring, endurance is at work too. It’s working toward the goal of a perfect result, its “full effect,” says the ESV. When endurance is in full bloom, so to speak, our faith lacks nothing. “So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely,” translates Peterson in the Message. “Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way (James 1:4 MSG).

PRAYER: Help me not to run from hard things, but endure until endurance has done its complete work in me, leaving me mature, well-developed and not deficient in any way, oh God.
