SCRIPTURE: Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens! Honor and majesty surround him; strength and joy fill his dwelling. O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! 1 Chronicles 16:23-29 NLT
THOUGHT: This lyric from a song of King David proves that, just because he was king, he didn’t let his worship writing chops atrophy. The song tells the whole story of God and his people, inviting every nation to hear and see — because that is really important to full, vibrant worship, isn’t it? The final verse of the previous chapter says that David was acting undignified for a king, dancing and laughing and celebrating to the point that his wife despised him.
When is the last time you praised God and celebrated to the point that someone despised you? Maybe Thanksgiving is a good time to give it a whirl.

PRAYER: O God, you are good and your mercy endures forever! Thank you that forever is such a very long time, and that your arm never too short to save and your ear never impaired to hear (Is. 59:1).
