Eyes of the Lord

SCRIPTURE:  For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. 2 Chronicles 16:9 NIV

THOUGHT: The phrase “the eyes of the Lord” appears 88 times throughout Scripture in the NIV – it’s an important reality. Some serve a disinterested God who started it all then stepped away. In my eyes, that’s holding to a form of godliness and denying its power (2 Tim. 3:5). The whole of Scripture teaches of a God who is very present, searching, scanning, waiting and longing to see hearts who are doing the same thing toward him. So, if you need strength today, commit your heart fully to God and he will keep his promise.

PRAYER: Oh God, you are near. Thank you that I can depend on your promise of strength from a hidden source when I fully commit myself to you and your ways.
