SCRIPTURE: The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord. Proverbs 21:31 ESV
QUOTE: Principles are deep fundamental truths, classic truths, generic common denominators. They are tightly interwoven threads running with exactness, consistency, beauty and strength through the fabric of life. – Steven R. Covey
THOUGHT: God being involved in the details of our lives is not only a promise, but a spiritual principle. I see it all over Scripture, from the outcome of battles, to kingdoms rising and falling, to the hairs on our head being numbered. God is deeply involved in our lives and our world – whether we acknowledge it or not.
But let’s not forget that Proverbs is written to a spiritual people. My point is that when the heart of a people is toward the Lord, the results are different. We have an important partnership with God in outcomes, sometimes by prayer, sometimes by faith, sometimes by relinquishing control, sometimes by sharing the gospel, sometimes by gratitude, etc. Our character matters. That’s a spiritual principle too.
PRAYER: Oh God, thank you that you operate on principles and promises, we are so grateful for your deep and abiding character. You can be trusted. And thank you for allowing us to partner with you in the way the world goes. It is a sweet privilege and responsibility.
