SCRIPTURE: The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Psalm 33:10-11 NIV
THOUGHT: Like an iconic meme, I can see the dastardly villain skulking after his last defeat, twirling his mustache as he cries, “Curses. Foiled again!” Now imagine that scene played out on the world stage over and over until the end of time. The plans of nations and the purposes of various peoples foiled and thwarted by a plan they can’t see, never believed, and thought was fantasy.
The will of mankind, strong as it is, is no match for the will of God. God’s will moves forward, sometimes silently and imperceptibly, sometimes aggressively. It marches, it flows, it floats, it low-crawls. But it always advances.
As members of the Body of Christ, we move forward with our God from here toward forever. His plans and the purposes of his heart cannot be foiled or thwarted, and we are carried into them each time we pray your will be done.

PRAYER: Even when I can’t see…even when I can’t understand, I believe your will is being done in my life and in the world around me, oh God whose plans stand firm forever and whose purposes stand firm through all generations. Your will be done!
