SCRIPTURE: Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1 NIV

THOUGHT: Some things need no explanation…just pray and never give up.
I talk, and talk, and talk about the changing times,
Amy Clemens “FROM MY KNEES” 10/19/10
Shake my head and wonder if God can still change hearts and minds.
But sometimes all the pondering leaves little time to pray
To the only One I trust to change anything, anyway
‘Cause I can’t reach the world
With all my worrying, and
I can’t heal my friends in their suffering,
Oh I can’t unlock the answers to a world in desperate need
But I do know the keeper of the keys
So I reach the One who reaches everything from my knees.
I want to make a difference; to leave a legacy
Live a life with meaning beyond what I can do and see
But I’m constrained by time and space and bound by humanness
Even if I give it all, my human strength is not enough
‘Cause I can’t change the world
And make it new again, no
I can’t stop the wars, can’t redeem the sin
Oh I can’t unlock the answers to a world in desperate need
But I do know the keeper of the keys
And I reach all of heaven from my knees.
On my knees I go between a King of Love and a world of need
Oh, I drop my pride there at His feet and plead with Him to intercede…
‘Cause I can’t save the world
But He knows what to do, and
There’s an end to me but His strength is never through
When I can’t unlock the answers to a world in desperate need
Oh I do know the keeper of the keys
And everything looks better here from my knees.
PRAYER: You have given us a way, oh Father, to impact the world around us through prayer. It’s not the only thing you ask us to do, but it is the place where faith begins. Your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
