SCRIPTURE: If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
QUOTE: Went to church, fasted all day. George Washington, June 1, 1774 journal entry

Here’s their list of ways you can pray in case you like to use prompts: Ways to Pray.
THOUGHT: In some strange way, I feel grateful we still have something called “The National Day of Prayer.” May it ever be so. It is my prayer this morning that, at the end of this day, God doesn’t laugh at the pitiful prayers of a scattered church, but that he attends to the powerful prayers of a gathered church, and forgives us for the things we’ve let happen on our watch. This is a day for his people to reckon with reality. It’s not for the people around us who could care less about God or communication with him. It is not a day to blame others for the ills around us. It is a day for personal and universal body-of-Christ reflection. God has spoken this conditional promise to his people, the ones called by his name. Let’s answer, humble ourselves, pray, seek, and turn, that he might hear and heal.

PRAYER: Oh God, our land is bleeding. We humble ourselves, pray, seek and turn. Hear us from heaven and bring healing as only you can.
