SCRIPTURE: O satisfy us with Your lovingkindness in the morning [now, before we grow older], that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:14 AMP
THOUGHT: It’s early, but dawn is coming quicker these days and the birds are already singing. This verse actually makes me think of those little creatures of God, so incredible in their variety and color and feathers and flight. They seem to dance to a different drum than most, don’t they? They’re up with the dawn and begin the day with song.
That’s the picture I get when I read Psalm 90:14. A beautiful bird, satisfied early and singing one of a thousand songs. What a great trajectory for the day! But Moses, who wrote this prayer, was not just asking for today. He was saying, Meet with me God –I want to start this morning on a trajectory toward being glad all my days.
Like me, you probably don’t sing in the morning, but why not? Hum this morning over your coffee or tea. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me.

PRAYER: Oh God, meet us early! Early in the morning, early in our lives. Set the trajectory for joy just because we have tasted and are full of your lovingkindness.
