SCRIPTURE: Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:29-30 ESV
THOUGHT: I love the Lord, and the further along the journey I go, the more I see his grace – and the more I know how much I need it.
I’ve come to a time where I need a little rest for the soul. Don’t worry, I won’t put down my yoke. I’ll keep walking with this gentle and lowly-in-heart Savior, but I’m also traveling to see my youngest daughter tomorrow and there’s a lot on our cumulative plate in the next few days, so I’m just slowing down, putting on the brakes as it were. I will ask you prayers, and I will point you to the many, many devotions I’ve written over the years on this site during the time I’m away. You can search them by topic if you scroll down far enough. I will pray for you too; may God meet you in profound ways as you look to him to be sustained. We certainly each need that.
PRAYER: Oh God, bless each reader, each one who is seeking you for answers and assurance and strength. Remind them, and me, that your joy is our strength. To know that you are happy with me puts a new spring in my step and I journey on with the easy yoke and the light load.
