SCRIPTURE: “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they exist, and were created and brought into being.” Revelation 4:11 AMP
THOUGHT: At the end of this story as a bigger, better one is unfolding, lies a reminder that we can benefit from right now. Everything that exists around us, exists by and through God. You created all things, and because of Your will they exist, and were created and brought into being.
It’s so easy to forget; it’s so easy to give the credit for the gifts we see to good luck or exceptional genes or a silver spoon; to credit humans for what God’s will has brought into existence. But that’s not the way it works. Until the day we, like the 24 elders described in this passage in Revelation 4, fall down and cast our crowns at the foot of the throne, acknowledging that our Creator and Redeemer are one and the same, worthy to receive the glory and the honor and the power, we won’t fully understand our position on earth, or in the coming kingdom of God.
Apprehending the bigger story just changes us.
PRAYER: Oh God, thank you for giving me glimpses of the bigger story, and I ask for more. Help me know enough of it to fall to my knees every day, giving you the glory and honor and power.
