SCRIPTURE: For I am the Lord, I do not change [but remain faithful to My covenant with you]; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, have not come to an end. Malachi 3:6 AMP
THOUGHT: If it seems like I am on a little path of looking at Scriptures about God’s unchanging nature, that’s because I am! It just seems very important these days. God uses Malachi to tell Israel that it’s a good thing he doesn’t change because if he did, they would have come to an end. Interesting and frightening to think about. And I think it’s not too far fetched that I could slip my own name in there instead of “sons of Jacob,” and remember that God’s commitment to his promises has rescued me more than a few times too.
What about you?
PRAYER: Oh God, thank you that once you make a promise, you keep it. How different serving you than all the little “g” gods of the earth whose whims must be catered to in perverted and wicked ways. We don’t stop to thank you for your faithfulness to your covenant often enough.
