SCRIPTURE: Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. Romans 11:33-36 NLT
THOUGHT: If we ever struggle to worship wholeheartedly, this would be a great passage to commit to memory.
But we don’t just need to memorize it, because information doesn’t really lead to transformation. What we really need is to live a life that teaches us the truth of these powerful words. Like a page torn from the end of Job’s story, or Isaiah in the temple at his commissioning, Paul speaks as one who has encountered the living God, in all his power and glory, and gotten a bigger picture of a bigger God. A picture that moves him from persecutor of Christianity to passionate preacher of Christ; from lover of power and intelligence to lover of God. An encounter so powerful that Paul – or you and I if we have such a transforming moment – will never, never, never be the same.

PRAYER: Oh God, give me depth and height and length and breadth in my understanding and worship of you. Give me a life that leads to my own transformation, and then use it to challenge others like your servants Job and Isaiah and Paul did.
