THOUGHT: Early on in recovery as I began to unpack my brokenness, it seemed like all I did was cry. But looking back at it now, there was a lot happening underneath those tears. God was helping me with proper perspective, showing me, time after time and miracle after miracle, that he was so much bigger than I had given him space and permission for in my story.
If you’ve been reading this devotional for long, you know I talk about “Big God” a lot, and it’s a theme that runs through the book I’ve written too. I just don’t think we get to very big worship if we don’t have a very big God – the two go hand in hand. So, God taught me about perspective and I learned to worship in the midst of pain and suffering and regret – but, hallelujah, I serve a very big God who can do things I couldn’t even think of or imagine.

It’s his favorite rock, He never lets it go, and
He’s got dreamy eyes as the fireflies turn into shooting stars
Another day is done; it’s time to make tomorrow’s sun…
This is our Father, and he is larger,
So much larger than this life

And the rock He holds we call our home.

This is our Father.
PRAYER: Father in heaven, thank you for perspective; thank you that as our own resources dry up, yours are eternally available. Show up in all your greatness and glory Father, we need you on this little rock we call our home.
