SCRIPTURE: Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
THOUGHT: We looked at working willingly, working with gusto, and making sure our words and work match. But we aren’t the only ones working – and it’s sweet to remember that “it is God at work in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure (Phil. 2:13 NASB).” Even in the work God gives us to do – be it parenting, going to school, earning a paycheck, leading a team, teaching, ministering to people’s health, driving a dump truck, or worship: we aren’t alone, and we aren’t asked to accomplish God’s good will on our own. There is beauty in this partnership with God, and there is hope of eternity – a day when the sorrow that is wound up with the beauty will no longer taint our work. But until that day, our faith in God must sustain us, not the answers to all our questions.
PRAYER: Thank you, God the Father that your very name Emmanuel means “God with us.” Thank you, God the Son, for walking a mile in our shoes, showing us what a life of Godly work and words looks like. Thank you, God the Spirit, for your daily presence and wisdom in all of life, and for setting the desire for something better in our own spirits. Although much of what you are doing is hidden from our sight, you have won our trust!

Great reminder today, thank you! I’m taking comfort in the knowledge that He does know the beginning to the end of all our days. Blessings, friend.
