Slipped, Fallen & Broken

SCRIPTURE:  When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Luke 23:33 NIV

QUOTE: Force is the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism. – Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the United States, Author, Declaration of Independence

THOUGHT: Shamefully arrested, wrongfully accused, and conveniently gotten out of the way by the powers that be —  not a new story at all, as Jesus could testify.

As I’ve watched the arrest of men like Peter Navarro and General Michael Flynn, the public humiliation and attempted silencing of any voice who doesn’t support the narrative of the day in science, education, border control, or election integrity, and the horrific treatment of January 6 prisoners, my trust in my government has slipped, fallen, and broken.

It’s been a hard two years, watching and disbelieving my own eyes. By law (and God’s grace), we are a free people, and yet, are we? When the people tasked with safety of the people of the United States begin to gather intelligence on parents, whose chief aim is the safety (mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually) of their children, something is upside-down. While the real and present danger of criminals running free across the country (including those who’ve walked across our border, those set free by our own legal system, bad foreign actors committed to our demise, and those who sit in the halls of government, breaking law without consequences) goes unaddressed; parents and patriots are the new suspects.

I can almost hear the voice of Jefferson saying force is the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism.

PRAYER: Oh God, we are in perilous waters. I often think we only know about the tip of the iceberg, while you know all the contents of the human heart. Forgive us where we are wrong, fill us with strength and wisdom for today, and deliver us from evil.
