About the Author

Amy Clemens is a singer-songwriter, former worship leader (who still loves to lead worship!), and freelance writer. She and her husband, Fred, make their home in beautiful Tennessee.

Life is full and requires her to hit her knees a lot. Since she’s sure her own mother did the same, it only seems right and fair to her, and prayer is the backbone of her life in Christ. Encouraging others toward a larger faith in a Big God is her call.

In addition to an undergraduate degree in journalism, Amy completed a master of arts at Western Theological Seminary in May 2015, and enjoys freelance writing. Her most current work can be found on this blog as well as in Words of Hope at https://www.woh.org/author/amy-clemens/, including her series, “Turning,” from January 2021, “Strength & Weakness,” from May, 2022 and a new series, “What God Has Promised,” for January 2023.

Amy’s first book, Walking When You’d Rather Fly: Meditations on Faith After the Fall released December 21, 2020. Part encouragement about the Big God she serves, part the story of why, the book weaves her personal journey back from childhood abuse with learning to trust the God who can redeem everything: loss, pain, relational, vocational and spiritual chaos, depression, desperation, divorce, disbelief. Everything.

    1. Thank you, Paul. I am really blessed by your words too. I hope to write a few books before it’s over, but regardless I will be faithful to his call — you too! Blessings, Amy
